Overview

How Deutsche Post International fits with myFulfillment

What is Deutsche Post International?

Deutsche Post International is a Post & Parcel Germany service for European businesses sending international mail and lightweight merchandise. Its current portfolio includes Packet Tracked and Packet Priority, alongside contract-based Business Mail services. The Boostmyshop connector enters the process at the end of packing in myFulfillment: it takes the recipient, service, weight, and shipment contents, adds the data required for the CN22 declaration, and requests the label from the Deutsche Post International API. The response provides a barcode and a PDF or ZPL document. A separate call retrieves carrier tracking events, while a closeout request groups the barcodes and returns the AWB document for the manifest. The prices used for comparison come from the rate table configured in the carrier account, not from a live quote. This integration is for international mail and lightweight packets carried through the Deutsche Post postal network; the separate DHL page covers DHL Express through MyDHL API.

In practice

How our customers use Deutsche Post International day to day

The operator starts from a shipment that has already been prepared in myFulfillment. They choose a service enabled under the contract, check the shipment data, print the label, and close the day with a manifest grouping the generated barcodes.

01
Ship a tracked lightweight parcel outside the European Union

For a Packet Tracked shipment, the address, weight, and item data feed the request. The PDF or ZPL label and barcode are attached to the shipment record before dispatch.

02
Prepare the CN22 declaration from item data

Each item's description, quantity, HS code, origin, and value are sent with the sender EORI, currency, shipment nature, and gross weight.

03
Close the day's shipments

myFulfillment groups the selected barcodes, submits the Deutsche Post International manifest, and attaches the returned AWB document to the closeout record.

A comparable operation

Lightweight international shipments prepared separately, with customs, labels, and the manifest re-keyed across tools.

Getting started

Connect Deutsche Post International to myFulfillment, step by step

  1. 1Contact Deutsche Post International to open or confirm the business contract and obtain test and production API credentials.
  2. 2During onboarding, have the Deutsche Post International module enabled in myFulfillment and select only the services available under your contract.
  3. 3Set the PDF or ZPL format, contract price table, and export settings: HS code, country of origin, EORI, and shipment nature.
  4. 4Test a representative lightweight parcel to a non-EU country: label, barcode, CN22 data, tracking event, and manifest closeout with its AWB document.
Before you connect

An active Deutsche Post International contract and its API credentials are required. Available services depend on the contract; current public offers include Packet Tracked, Packet Priority, and enabled Business Mail variants. Each shipment request is limited to one parcel. Displayed prices come from the rate table configured in myFulfillment. The integration groups barcodes for a customer drop-off manifest and generates the corresponding AWB; physical drop-off or collection follows the arrangement agreed with Deutsche Post International.

Quentin

“For a non-EU shipment, acceptance testing requires a representative item: HS code, origin, value, EORI, and the CN22 document.”

FAQ

Deutsche Post International: frequently asked questions

Deutsche Post International belongs to Post & Parcel Germany and serves international mail and lightweight merchandise through the postal network. The separate DHL page covers DHL Express through MyDHL API for international express parcels. The accounts, services, and APIs are distinct.

The public API lists Packet Tracked, Packet Priority, Business Mail Registered, and Business Mail Priority. Packet Plus, Packet Return, Packet Standard, and Business Mail Standard were discontinued on January 1, 2025. Enable only the services still available on your contract.

First obtain a business contract, account number, and the Consumer Key and Consumer Secret API credentials. The Boostmyshop team configures the module, environment, services, label format, and price table, then validates a test shipment before production.

No. The connector checks each configured service and applies the contract price stored in the carrier account, with a locally calculated estimated date. It does not request a live rate quote from Deutsche Post International at packing time.

The request contains each item's description, quantity, HS code, country of origin, and value. It adds the sender EORI, shipment amount, currency, gross weight, and shipment nature. These values need to be complete before the label request.

The barcode returned with the label is stored as the identifier. On refresh, the connector calls the tracking API and saves the date, status, and message of the latest returned event. The integration covers identifier capture and inbound carrier events, but not automatic writeback to every sales channel.

Yes. myFulfillment collects the selected shipment barcodes, submits the closeout with an end-of-day reference, retrieves the AWB, and attaches its PDF to the manifest. The integration treats this handoff as a customer drop-off and does not book a collection.

The Boostmyshop module is included with myFulfillment. Postage, services, and any minimums remain governed by your Deutsche Post International contract. Confirm the active price table and handoff conditions with your account contact.
