Groupon integration for product orders, stock and tracking

The Groupon integration covered here connects Groupon Goods to myFulfillment. It imports new physical-product orders, sends available inventory, checks quantity mismatches and sends carrier and tracking details back when a parcel is confirmed. Groupon Merchant campaigns for local deals and voucher redemption use a different commercial and operational model and are not part of this integration.

Overview

How Groupon fits with myFulfillment

What is Groupon?

Groupon can mean two very different seller activities. Groupon Merchant is the better-known offer for local promotions, campaign-based deals and vouchers redeemed with a service provider. This integration concerns Groupon Goods, the marketplace for physical products operated through the CommerceInterface Gateway. An authorized supplier receives product orders there, maintains an available quantity and returns shipping details. The Groupon Goods connector exchanges three flows with the marketplace: importing new orders, exporting and reconciling inventory quantities, and sending the carrier plus tracking number when a shipment is confirmed. Once imported, a Groupon Goods order can also use myFulfillment's shared purchasing, shipping, returns and multi-location inventory workflows. Optional myWebPOS store fulfillment applies after the order reaches myFulfillment; it runs on the myFulfillment side and adds no Groupon API exchange. If an order already exists in myFulfillment, the import leaves it in place and its status is no longer updated from Groupon afterwards. A user-provided CSV can map Vendor SKU, title and EAN into myFulfillment product references, but that path does not publish a catalog to Groupon Goods. Seller access remains in the Gateway, while the Boostmyshop team handles the assisted module configuration and validates each data flow before routine feeds are enabled.

Groupon integration: the flows exchanged with myFulfillment

Groupon Goods sends new orders into myFulfillment. myFulfillment sends available quantities and shipment tracking back to the marketplace. Groupon Merchant's local campaigns and voucher redemption remain a separate activity.

Our verdict

When Groupon is enough, and when myFulfillment makes the difference

The Groupon Goods connector exchanges three flows with the marketplace, then hands imported orders to shared myFulfillment operations. Groupon Merchant vouchers and other Groupon API calls stay outside it.

Strengths · Limits
Strengths
  • New Groupon Goods orders created in myFulfillment with duplicate references skipped
  • SKU-level available inventory exported and checked for mismatches
  • Carrier and tracking number returned on shipment confirmation
  • Imported orders available to purchasing, multi-location inventory, shipping and internal returns workflows
Limits
  • The import covers new orders; the status of orders already in myFulfillment is no longer updated from Groupon afterwards.
  • The CSV path maps product references into myFulfillment; catalog and offer publication remain in the Groupon Goods seller tools.
  • Selling prices and Groupon returns-system synchronization do not pass through this connector; shared labels, rates and internal returns do not imply Groupon API support.

In practice

How our customers use Groupon day to day

Treat Groupon Goods as a physical-products channel: new orders enter myFulfillment, where the same purchasing, stock, packing, shipping and returns workflows available to other connected marketplace orders can take over.

01
Separate a new order from an existing record

When the Groupon Goods import runs, it creates a missing order and marks it as imported. If the reference is already present in myFulfillment, the importer skips it and does not update its status.

02
Reconcile inventory discrepancies

Send SKU-level available quantity to Groupon Goods, then compare the channel response with the expected value. Any affected reference is placed back in the synchronization queue for another update.

03
Confirm the parcel with tracking

Once the shipment has a carrier and tracking number, the Boostmyshop module sends both with the Groupon Goods line-item identifier. The shipment then leaves the confirmation queue, so each parcel is notified once even when the feed runs several times a day.

Getting started

Connect Groupon to myFulfillment, step by step

  1. 1Have your Groupon Goods supplier relationship approved and verify access to the CommerceInterface Gateway.
  2. 2During onboarding, ask the Boostmyshop team to configure the Boostmyshop module for the authorized account.
  3. 3Map the supplier references, selected warehouses and carriers used for Groupon Goods orders.
  4. 4Test a new-order import, an available-quantity update and an inventory mismatch check.
  5. 5Confirm a shipment with its carrier and tracking number, then verify that Groupon Goods receives it.
Before you connect

The Groupon Goods connector covers new-order import, SKU-level available inventory export and reconciliation, and shipment tracking notification. Existing-order status updates, catalog or offer publication, selling-price changes and Groupon returns-system synchronization do not pass through this connector and stay in the Groupon Goods seller tools. Carrier selection, rates, labels, internal returns, purchasing, unified stock and optional store fulfillment are shared myFulfillment or myWebPOS behavior after an order is connected; they are not Groupon API exchanges. The public Groupon Merchant signup is for local campaigns and is not used as a Groupon Goods supplier-registration path.

Keep Groupon Goods and Groupon Merchant separate in the setup: physical-product orders do not use the local voucher campaign flow.

FAQ

Groupon: frequently asked questions

Pricing, setup, order and stock sync, carriers, worldwide selling and shipping: answers about the Groupon integration.

It connects an authorized Groupon Goods supplier account to myFulfillment through three flows: new-order import, SKU-level inventory export and reconciliation, and shipment tracking notification. Imported orders can then use the applicable purchasing, stock, shipping, returns and optional store-fulfillment modules in myFulfillment.

No. Groupon Merchant is aimed at local businesses running promotions, deals and voucher-redemption campaigns. Groupon Goods is the marketplace for physical products handled by this connector through the CommerceInterface Gateway.

Start with an approved Groupon Goods supplier relationship and working Gateway access. The Boostmyshop team then configures the Boostmyshop module during onboarding, maps the required references and tests an order, an inventory update and the transmission of tracking details. There is no self-service installation: the module is opened and configured with the Boostmyshop team.

The import creates Groupon Goods orders that are missing from myFulfillment and marks them as imported. If the reference already exists, the import skips it. The connector therefore imports new orders but does not follow their later status changes at Groupon.

myFulfillment builds an update with each SKU and its available quantity, then sends it to Groupon Goods. A separate reconciliation check reads the channel quantity, identifies mismatches and places the affected references back in the synchronization queue.

Yes. When a parcel is confirmed, the Boostmyshop module sends Groupon Goods the carrier, the relevant line-item identifier and the tracking number. The shipment then leaves the confirmation queue, so the same tracking is not sent again on later runs.

The order can feed purchasing needs, use the shared inventory pool, pass through carrier selection and label creation, and be handled in the internal returns workflow. With myWebPOS, it can also be fulfilled from a store holding the item. These are shared module capabilities, not extra Groupon API exchanges.

No. The connector does not publish a catalog, update listings or change selling prices: those stay in the Groupon Goods seller tools. A manual CSV can map Vendor SKU, title and EAN into myFulfillment product references, but that is an inbound reference-mapping tool rather than catalog synchronization to Groupon Goods.

Use the official CommerceInterface Gateway for the seller back office. Groupon also publishes a Groupon Goods Merchant Success Portal with North America-oriented support material. Both destinations are listed in the practical links.
